So for the past week and a half or so I have been dealing with a pretty bad lupus flare that has extremely affected the use of my right arm.
I have been completely numb from above my elbow down to my fingertips. Not only numb but really painful. It feels like someone has cut off the circulation to my entire arm. I cannot lift things without support with my left arm, I cannot type (that's why I haven't been on here much)... I feel like my fingers are frozen.
What do you do for this?
I have been wearing support sleeves since before I was diagnosed and have also added the use of a glove as well. This is failing me. It seemed to work at the beginning but not lately. UGH
I try using the heating pad, sure the heat feels amazing but it does not help! I tried a massager that I use for my neck, it helps while in use but when I stop the pain and numbness is really bad still. I cannot move my fingers to make a fist and I can tell you that typing this is extremely difficult.
I tried writing a grocery list yesterday, my hand cramped up so bad I could barely read what I wrote. I have also known that your spine is the center of your body and if you would have a pinched nerve or something, it could cause this. My back is fine, though.
What do I do?
I have tried to do as little as possible, but when you have a family to take care of, it's hard. It's hard to cook dinner, dishes, really anything. It hurts to get dressed!
Any recommendations would be wonderful!!!
(Arm sleeves can be purchased almost anywhere. I have recently got ones in the picture from the Wish App with fast delivery! They are even better than the ones I got from Amazon. But they are not expensive so if you find ones that are expensive, you can definitely find them cheaper!)
